Crazy life is crazy

Hey everyone!
I swear I'm still alive, but I'll be a little hit or miss around here. I got one of the internships!!
It's the one I really wanted as a historical intern at the Slate Run Living Historical Farm. Technically my first day isn't until April 1st (haha 
) but there's a lot to do in the meantime. I just got insurance back so there's a ton of doctor's, dentist's, ect. to go to as well as the fact that I'm playing with the idea of going back to school for my masters. All of that means I'll be running around like a mad woman until I get things figured out and settled which will probably take a month or so. Until then I'll probably be sporadic in my updates/favs/replies.
Hope everyone's doing fantastically! And here's hoping for some spring weather soon

Early Spring Cleaning- Update ^_^

Update: Well, I think I've settled on what I'm going to keep for now (though it may change later) and all of the Michigan photos are now up! 
So I'm going to get cracking on all the backlog of winter pics and get you all back to your regularly scheduled animal and nature photos
So while I've been uploading photos, I've been deleting some really old, really aweful photos so that my gallery didn't explode. However, today I just kind of... kept going. I deleted and scrapped a boatload of my photos. Don't panic. The ones I deleted had no favs and little to no views, and the scrapped ones all had under 5 favs and not very many more views and were, I thought, no longer an accurate representation of myself. I'm much happier with my gallery now, but I'll probably go back within the next week or two and scrap a few more.
In other news, life has been going. I've been busy with friends and family but things should settle down here for now. In the meantime, I'm waiting to hear back on a few park internships that I've applied for. It would be an awesome opportunity and a foot in the door. Keep your fingers crossed for me?

A Bit of Warm Weather... In Spirit

Heya!
So I've sifted though most my photos and the only ones left to go up are my vacation photos. I went with my family to St. Ignas, MI and we rented a little cabin by the water. Seeing as how it's snowing outside and I have a headcold so am wrapped in a lovely blanket and don't feel like moving from it, I've decided to send a little warmer weather your way... in photos
Also, you'll notice that as I add more photos, I'm deleting some of my older ones. These are the ones that have very little views and no favs, so don't panic. I just want to keep my gallery from exploding and also to clean up some of my not-so-great earlier work.

Life Update

Hello everyone!
Well, there have been a few things that have changed since my last journal. For one, we got the camera back. It turns out there was not only an issue with the shutter mechanism but also with the autofocus. This was a bit of a let down as the camera is just about 2 years old and has been very well taken care of. But! They took care of both problems with minimum cost, so other than missing the fall leaves around here I think I'll call it even
In other news, I've been to several interviews. None have panned out so far, but I have gotten a lot of good references and names to help me along my way to a grown up career. However, in the meantime I've started to volunteer at the Slate Run Living Historical Farm and now that I'm there, I don't know why I didn't do this sooner. It's right across the way from me and it is a fantastic place. If you are in the central Ohio area I highly suggest visiting it. I've been going there for years, but being behind the scenes is ridiculously fun. In my first few days I've learned how to opperate a fire-burning cast iron stove, how to can fruit, and all about the house and traditional 1880s dress. Next time I hope to come early for morning chores so I can get a chance to try my hand in the barn It's fantastic experience for my eventual (hopefully) career in the park system as well, and the people there are absolutely brilliant and welcoming. Not to mention they've given me tons of helpful advice in my job search. Hopefully this also means more photographs of the farm as well 
On the knitting front, I've gotten two of the Christmas-gift scarves down and am halfway on the third. After that there's only one more to go and then I can start on a scarf for myself Due to the fact they are Christmas gifts, photos will probably delayed until after the holidays.
Other than that, life's just been rolling on like normal. I've gotten a bunch of post-editing/little cleanups done so photos should be coming fairly frequently until I run out
I'm just trying to release them a bit slowly (no more than 5 a day or so) so that your inboxes aren't flooded.

Some Technical Difficulties

Anywho, I've started to actually edit some of the many photos to go through, so expect them to show up in a slow trickle

Hello!
I'm still alive!
So there were a few things that contributed to my long hiatus...
The first was vacation. We spent an awesome week up in Michigan. We found a little cabin on the banks of Lake Superior just outside of St. Ignace. It was pretty good, but no cabin is without it's little quirks. Ours had bats. There were tons living in the roof of the porch and every now and again one would make its way inside. Needless to say this made bunking in the loft quite the adventure. But the view was beautiful and I managed to take tons of photos.
The second was that I quit my job. There were many reasons, but the main was that my bosses were acting highly unprofessionally and it was beginning to affect not only my life outside of work but also my hours and pay. So far I am unemployed, but I have a few prospects on the table and should be well on my way with something soon. ^_^
The third reason was that I got myself a new anti-virus system. If you don't know me, I'm horrible with technology. My friends won't let me touch or come near their computers as I tend to have a bad effect on them (blue screens of death being the most popular). So I got rid of my old, crap anti-virus and uploaded this new one. However, when I tried to access DA my virus shields would go crazy and cause my computer to either freeze or crash. After much experimentation, though, I seem to have fixed the problem! Woo ^_^
While I was away, I have taken more pictures and also have made a new profile over on RedBubble.com. I believe that while I will keep uploading here, I'm going to put the photos I want to sell as prints over on that site as I like their sales system a little better. Also, my inbox here seems to be ridiculously crowded so it may take me a bit to go through all of them, and I think that with over 11,000 deviations I'm going to just get rid of them and start over from scratch, so if there's something really nice you'd like me to see, just send me a note and I'll take a trip over to your page to check it out
Rest assured though that I will get through all of my messages eventually!
In other news, my main Cannon EOS seems to have had a slight breakdown, but we have sent it off to be repaired and should be back by the end of the month... hopefully >.> At any rate, I still have my Nikon P90, so if push comes to shove I can just use that for a little while
I also seem to have taken up knitting... only partially my fault, but if I make anything of note, I'll be sure to photograph it and share if anyone is interested.
It's great to be back and I look forward to hearing from all of you!!
